Software Engineer
Explores, develops, and prototypes next generation computing and communication infrastructure systems as part of CLS Division s computational life sciences program and projects. Specifically, work is in the area of developing computational infrastructure for large-scale deep learning systems used for modeling biological systems in cancer. The successful candidate will work as a member of a team under the supervision of sr. technical staff, as appropriate.
Position Requirements
Bachelor's and 8
years;Master's and 5
years; or Doctorate and 4
years; or equivalent.
Knowledge of modern software design and implementation.
Skill in the architecture and development of high quality well-engineered software and systems.
Considerable skill in the solution of computational science problems on massively parallel computers. Considerable knowledge and experience with a wide range of parallel computing architectures and tools.
Experience implementing parallel application libraries.
Considerable experience porting and parallelizing a variety of application codes in different parallel computers.
Skill in measuring and tuning software systems performance.
Considerable skill in computing workflows.
Good collaboration skills, including the ability to work well with other laboratories and universities.
Good skills in the use of graphic techniques to communicate the results of complex computational workflows and modeling.
