Responsible for each project assigned from disclosure assessment through executing licenses and other agreements related to that technology. Leads teams responsible for protecting and commercializing intellectual property generated by Argonne National Laboratory and its researchers. Identifies and evaluates intellectual property and provides input to secure optimal patent protection for researchers inventions. Identifies best path to commercialization for selected projects. Leads negotiations of associated license agreements toensure that licensed projects realize expected returns. Assists in the establishment of new venture start-ups and in litigation associated with ANL intellectual property. Oversees all communication withresearchers regarding license negotiations, and licensed programs. Educates researchers on the importance of patent process. Leads the determination of patentability and commercial potential of researchers inventions, including market opportunity, competition, and intellectual property position. Prioritizes projects according to commercial opportunities and revenue requirements. Prepares, reviews and approves as appropriate documentation associated with Work for Others (WFO) and Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA). Position Requirements  Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: oKnowledge and experience in intellectual property management and/or contract negotiation related to engineering and science required. oExperience performing due diligence on companies required. oKnowledge of business plan development preferred. oKnowledge and experience with business intelligence databases and ability to develop value propositions and marketing strategies required. oAbility to integrate information from multiple sources accurately into IP- and negotiation-related documents. oOrganizational and interpersonal skills. oWritten and verbal communication skills. oAbility to work independently and as part of a team. oAbility to manage complex, time-sensitive issues. oAdvanced science or engineering degree plus a minimum of three years of relevant industry experience OR a Bachelor of Science degree plus a minimum of five years of relevant industry experience required. oExperience analyzing commercialization potential for Laboratory-based inventions and in identifying candidate industry partners required. oExperience developing documentation in support of patent applications required. oExperience in supporting the formation of start-up companies preferred. oExperience in supporting the education of research scientists on the patent process preferred. oAbility to travel as needed. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
