ServiceNow Front End Web Developer

Argonne National Laboratory has an opportunity for a ServiceNow Front End Web Developer within the Business and Information Services (BIS) team. The ServiceNow Developer focuses on front end development to assist in achieving the long-term vision of the ServiceNow platform at Argonne. The candidate will provide design, development, and support of ServiceNow under the direction of the Senior Platform Architect and Product Manager while aligning to Service Management best practices. The role will also assist with researching, planning, designing, and implementing application solutions for conceptual design requirements. The responsibilities will vary from ServiceNow development to day-to-day support of ServiceNow. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement dynamic and responsive Service Portal and end user interfaces on the ServiceNow Platform. Build and maintain custom widgets and pages as necessary to meet customer needs. Lead in support and guidance in UI/UX design sessions. Configuration and customization of the ServiceNow system including workflows. Translate business requirements into effective interface interactions that tie into client-server scripts. Collaborate with various Business Owners, Platform Developers, and a Diverse User Base. Articulate technical concepts using easily understandable business language, includes assists with Requirements Definitions, and Technical Specifications Documentation. Research ServiceNow interface design practices and enhancements and incorporate in development. Share knowledge with other developers on best practices and act as a subject matter expert for interface design. Follow governance to allow for cohesive development from multiple organizations and teams. Position Requirements Required Knowledge, Skills, & Experience: Hands-on experience with application development and customization of an enterprise service management application. (5+ years hands-on experiencepreferred.) Ability to take up challenges, adapt to the business needs, and stay focused on delivering results are essential to the success of this role. Experience with client scripting (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is required. (5+ years' experiencepreferred.) Proficiency with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Bootstrap, React, etc.). (6-8 years' experiencepreferred.) Experience in applying user interface best practices. (6-8 years' experiencepreferred.) Experience with client-server call and response, including AJAX, REST, and JSON. (6+ years' experiencepreferred.) ServiceNow application development and configuration experience. (5+ years' experiencepreferred.) Experience with Service Portal development, including widgets. (3+ years' experiencepreferred.) Experience with UI Actions, UI Policies, Views, and other ServiceNow interface configurations. (5+ years' experiencepreferred.) Experience developing Service Catalog items. (5+ years' experiencepreferred.) Ability to analyze and design solutions to user interaction problems. Familiarity with user experience best practices a plus. Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze and examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions. Ability to create and demonstrate wireframing of processes. Strong understanding of object oriented concepts. Knowledge of systems analysis, systems design, user interaction design, computer science and skill in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting complex design problems. Ability to clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing. Ability to effectively interact with users at all levels in the organization. Skills in project and task organization and time management. Skill in translating needs of customers into systems design. Experience working in a scientific or similar environment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
