Assistant Scientist, Nanoscience

Position Description  Youa re invited to apply for an Assistant Scientist position with our Nanoscience & Technology (NST) division. In this role, you will conduct basic research in materials, nanoscale devices and nanofabrication technology to advance science in the areas including, but not limited to, nanotechnology, nanophotonics and nanofabrication. You will be responsible for developing and implementing nanofabrication technology using focused ion beam (FIB) in support of the CNM user community in basic research. You will also: Conduct independent and collaborative research with and under the supervision of senior scientific staff.  Carry out development work on focused ion beam techniques to enhance research capabilities in nanofabrication and apply them to support independent and collaborative scientific research.   Reside at the nanofabrication facility to contribute to the development of research activities and building of a vibrant and productive CNM User community.   Publish research results in refereed journals and presents results at meetings, conferences, symposia, and seminars. Maintain up-to-date awareness of worldwide developments in those disciplines in which related work is being conducted. Provide support and work direction to CNM user community, postdoctoral appointees, resident student associates, and technical staff within their area of responsibility.   Works toward achieving promotion to grade RD3. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
