Senior Project Manager, Internal & Executive Communications

Position Description  Argonne National Laboratory is searching for a talented Senior Project Manager, Internal & Executive Communications to join the Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) Division.  (Externally this role may be better known as a Project Director for Internal and External Communications.  We encourage those looking for a Director level role to apply.) This key role supports the internal and executive communications team at Argonne National Lab. The Senior Project Manager, Internal & Executive Communications specializes in the use of multiple communications channels to produce accurate and timely communications and materials that promote employee awareness and impact of the laboratory s mission, values, policies and achievements. The Senior Project Manager, Internal & Executive Communications is expected towork with a variety of internal clients (Finance, HR, IT and other Laboratory Operations) to create content which helps build engagement among employees to influence outcomes crucial to employee retention, productivity, safety, and an increased job satisfaction. This role provides communications counsel to internal leaders and supports fulfillment of communications needs, ensuring strategic alignment and high-quality print, digital, and web products for internal audiences. Working withother members of the Communications and Public Affairs division, this role measures effectiveness of each internal communications campaign, and offers continuous improvement ideas. As part of a small team of internal communications specialists the Senior Project Manager, Internal & ExecutiveCommunications triages proposed all-staff messages and distributes them to appropriate channels based on Argonne posting policies. Position Requirements  Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Highly proactive, strategic, and knowledgeable of integrated marketing communications, particularly in the area of employee communications. Excellent communications skills to bring together diverse representatives from varying organizations to achieve common communications goals. Experience working with C-level executives on internal and external communications needs, including speechwriting, Congressional testimony, event briefings, etc. Proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with senior leadership. Ability to plan and execute effective internal approaches to drive change. Expertise in change management communications. Continually suggests strategies, objectives, and tactics that evolve the quality and impact of the Laboratory's internal communications efforts. Outstanding writing across a range of styles (formal, informal, digital, print). Advanced editing skills. Creativity to inspire novel approaches to repeated annual events or programs. Ability to exhibit excellence in all areas of customer service. Skills in effectively implementing strategic communications plans. Ability to produce timely and effective communications. Ability to adapt in a highly dynamic environment with strict attention to deadlines. Familiarity with operations of a large organization, and experience supporting operational communications to line staff. Proven ability to work with a variety of leadership styles and staff personalities. Skill in effectively communicating scientific and technical ideas to lay audiences. Skill in planning, researching, writing, editing and layout for publications and other media. Knowledge of web content management for internet and intranet. Strong background in, and aptitude for, strategic thinking and project management. 6+ years of integrated marketing communications experience; at least 2 years in an internalcommunications role. Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, integrated marketing communications or similar. Experience in a non-profit, academic or mission-based organization preferred. Conscientious budget manager and steward of Lab resources. Demonstrated ability to deliver measurable results (increased awareness, higher client satisfaction, increased engagement, etc.). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
